COMPOSITE 16 - Fallen on Cobblestone

Autumn is here! Arrived today at the northern hemisphere, although the remnants of the warm summer are still around and hopefully will be throughout October. I refuse to leave my shorts and beach slippers so soon! Not that I don't like Autumn!... As long as the Sun shines, that's fine for me... And the sunlight in this season is great to shoot outside all day, because the Sun is lower and the light's not so harsh at noon.
This image is already one year old and as it hasn't been published before in the blog, I'm doing it now, welcoming Autumn and its beautiful colors.
I picked one photo of a deciduous tree leaf and arranged it in Photoshop to look like a paper photo print. Then I duplicated it in several layers over the cobblestone pavement background, distributing them according to the perspective, composing the best I could. For the final touch I did some rotation and curling of the corners using the "Free Transform > Wrap" tool and applied subtle "Drop Shadows" according the low sunlight from the front.

"Caídas no Pavimento". Aí está o Outono! Chegou hoje ao hemisfério norte apesar de ainda se fazerem notar os resquícios do ameno Verão, que aliás, espero que por aqui fiquem durante o mês de Outubro! É que recuso-me a largar os calções e os chinelos de praia tão cedo! Não quero dizer que não gosto do Outono!... Desde que o Sol brilhe, está tudo bem... E a luz do Sol nesta estação é ótima para fotografar na rua todo o dia, porque o Sol está baixo e a luz não é tão dura ao meio dia.
Esta imagem já tem um ano mas como não tinha ainda sido publicada no blog, faço-o agora, dando as boas vindas ao Outono e às suas belas cores.
Peguei numa foto de uma folha caduca e fi-la parecer como uma fotografia impressa. Depois dupliquei-a em diversas camadas no Photoshop sobre o fundo do pavimento de pedra, distribuindo-as de acordo com a prespectiva e compondo a imagem o melhor possível. Para o toque final, apliquei alguma rotação nas folhas e dobrei as pontas usando a ferramenta "Free Transform > Wrap" e criei sombras subtis com o "Drop Shadows" de acordo com o Sol rasteiro vindo de frente.

HDR 11 - My Cherry-Red Scenic

One evening with a beautiful sunset light, I went off road with my trustful Renault Scenic to get closer to a lagoon full of flamingos, in what should be a great photo opportunity. I was carrying my 70-200 f/2.8 zoom but it was not enough to get decent shots of the birds, so I had to get closer. And I really got near, so near that when they noticed the car, they took off flying to a distant place, too far for me to reach. What a disastrous wildlife photographer I am... So much to learn! :/
Well, I didn't want to get out of there empty-handed so I turned my back to the lagoon and facing the the car I said: "Here's your chance to shine, Cherry-Red!"
I blended the 3 exposures in Photomatix and took some time with Photoshop, dodging and burning and tweaking the tones to optimize the final image.

"O meu Scenic Vermelho-Cereja". Numa tarde de verão com uma bela luz de pôr-do-sol, saí da estrada para me aproximar de uma lagoa cheia de flamingos, no que me parecia uma excelente oportunidade fotográfica. Tinha o meu zoom 70-200 f/2.8 mas não era suficiente para conseguir fotos decentes das aves, por isso tinha que me aproximar o mais possível. E cheguei perto, tão perto que, ao notarem o carro, desataram a voar para outro lugar mais distante que me seria impossível de alcansar. Que fotógrafo desastrado de vida selvagem... Tenho tanto para aprender! :/
Bom, eu não queria sair dali de mãos vazias, por isso voltei as costas à lagoa e olhei para o carro e disse: "Aqui está a tua oportunidade de brilhares, Vermelho-Cereja!"
Combinei as 3 exposições no Photomatix e demorei-me bastante no Photoshop, aclarando e escurecendo àreas e manipulando os tons, para optimizar a imagem final.
